Phil definately left his mark in Reading and will be rembered and missed by the many friends he made during the fews years he lived and worked here. I was fortunate enough to be his manager when he transferred east to Reading but hope we were also good friends. Within my team we had 3 of us that also taught canoeing and Kayaking with a local outdoor adventure club. All 4 of my sons also worked there so when we convinced Phil it would be a good idea to sign up on a 6 week course to learn to Kayak, they all got to know Phil as well. Kayaking and Phil were not really a natural partnership made in Heaven but he did manage to master going around in circles, and more circles and smaller circles and even more circles. He wasn't finding going in straight lines quite so easy but when ever things didn't go as planned he giggled and laughed and blamed the boats we were putting him in, although all the youngsters on the same course seem to manage OK. He was convinced we were stiching him up and finding him dodgy boats but still every one of the six weeks he attended it just ending with him giggling and then full blown Laughter. And that I believe is one of the things that will always stick with us in Reading HIS EVER INFECTIOUS GIGGLE and LAUGHTER
